Buddy, if you don't make an exception to the rule just this once I will petition the mods to kick you out of this forum.
Should it come down to you selling the '72 JM though, well, I would wanna discuss payment plans

I think we need a family shot of all 5 guitars before any choices can be made…
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

If you can’t get the Coronado to work for you then it would make the most sense to sell. Preferably to me .

You said that the Coronado is uncomfortable, feeds back and isn't stable tuning wise. It's a cool guitar, sure, but those sound like some pretty big negatives. If you're going to sell anything I'd say that's the one.
I did the same thing with my Silvertone 1446. It was a super cool guitar, but it was uncomfortable to play and just didn't really inspire me, so I traded it along for an American Strat that I like way better, despite being less cool.

I think that 72 JM needs to go... to me
Such a hard choice though, especially out of 3 guitars

It's the least stable and comfortable out of all of them (tuning is still very good, just a bit iffy if you use the vibrato particularly heavily), feedback an issue at very high volumes.Jonesie wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 6:51 amYou said that the Coronado is uncomfortable, feeds back and isn't stable tuning wise. I'm going more and more off the idea of culling one though

Re: One In, One Out. The hardest choices...
I totally understand. There's a point when you stop enjoying the guitars for themselves and start getting caught up in the accumulation of stuff (of options, of sounds, of styles, etc.) A hard limit makes sense in that it forces you to consider what you have and whether the surplus makes it difficult to fully enjoy everything. Limits can be liberating. I've found I enjoy really playing only a few guitars and exploring what they do well and what they struggle to do (which can have interesting outcomes), rather than cycling through the collection for the low hanging fruit (same goes for effects, too, I suppose).
I'd suggest sticking with your rule of one in, one out, but giving yourself a grace period (such as a couple months or more) to see what settles where, and keep the ones you like the most, regardless of value or vintage.
(Side note: is the limit 3 or 5 guitars? Two forever guitars and two fun vintage ones?)

What does a second Jazzmaster bring to your collection, that you don't already get from your CIJ? If the CIJ is always #1, this guitar will never be more than an extra Jazzmaster. Move on the '72 JM. There are lots of people who would make it their #1.

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Re: One In, One Out. The hardest choices...
Ideally I'd like to get to just 3 guitars, but I realise that might be extremely hard for me to do. The Silver JM and Telecaster are 100% going nowhere. I could happily live out the rest of my days with just thosecestlamort wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 8:23 amI totally understand. Re: One In, One Out. The hardest choices...
I've always liked having 2 JMs so I have two to gig with (one as a solid backup). I had an AV65 as my second for a long time and flip-flopped between the two for live use as they were equipped with exactly the same pickups and hardware.ThePearDream wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 8:38 amWhat does a second Jazzmaster bring to your collection, that you don't already get from your CIJ?
