So over in Houston there's a fucking BLACK '66 jeezum! I would die to play that fucker. Looks like a big non-matching headstock. I wonder if this is an early factory refin?

Holy shiiiiiiiit!
I saw this! I saw it this morning doing my rounds. Seems like an alright price, nowadays, huh?

That finish looks waaaaaaay to shiny to be original IMHO

And I love when there’s only one photo to work from.

Right! My wife “loves” it when I start ranting about crappy, low res photos (or photo, singular), especially when someone is asking thousands for something. How often do blurry, low res photos end up being for real products? I generally just assume it’s a scam (or they don’t know what they have).

I think price is too high btw. And for the tremolo plate, I don´t think you can say it is not original, only with close picture. Btw I am not sure if my plate is original, if somebody could advise...

Remember missing out on one like that, maybe even this one for $1400, wrongly advertised as a made in mexico. Twang bought it and had the neck up for sale for quite a while in the same ball league. Still haunts me to this day.

Did you buy this one from Reverb? Located in Sweden or something, didn’t wanna risk it being fake.

No it was on Facebook Marketplace from a guy who had bought the '69, my 80's MIJ jag and 2 60's Strats at a flea market.

I have a '68 (or '69? Can't remember) Jazzmaster with maple neck.
Yes, it's a really great guitar and it's pretty rare, I guess that's why prices are so high.

I'd sell it for that money for sure, as I'm a working musician, not a collector ;D !!!

To be honest, I still have to find a guitar that has that "Morricone sounds" I love, but I'm sure it can be obtained with cheaper guitars too.

Here's a video of the guitar, for those who may be interested:
