What's a decent price for a mid-late 70s, stripped JM?
Someone has posted a nice blackguard Jazzmaster meant to be from 77-78 (although with a matching serial no. 1975 neck) for sale relatively close to me, with a re-fret and the sunburst stripped down to natural but otherwise looking pretty good.
I really really really ought not to be eyeing any more guitars at this point in my life, I need a new laptop and to travel and eventually to go back to studying, but this one sits right around 1900€ which seems almost suspiciously low. It might be my last chance to own a JM that is currently considered vintage, and it seems like it'd be pretty much impossible to lose any money on it unless the market crashes completely.
What should a guitar like that cost, for those of you who have been eyeing recent sales?

8 years ago, i turned a blackguard down for 1000 euro and it was pretty clean. i dunno what the prices are like nowadays but i'm guessing if it's been stripped, maybe knock off like 15-25% of what a non-stripped one is worth

You looking at the one in Sweden? Judging by the angle of the pics, the fretjob looks botched. FYI, ask for close ups.

I bet it's the same one. I found it via a forum where the seller has been a member for a long time, if not a frequent poster, so I expect him to be honest enough about it. He did say the fret ends were kinda sharp and all.
Not that it matters, I'll kick myself for this in 10 years but I can't blow 2k€ on a guitar now.

It's the same one, and along with his remark about the frets and judging by the close up pic on the frets, I'd wager to say it needs a fret job.

So, just factor in the cost of the fretjob too. Sometimes, the ones the need a bit of love turn into the best ones.

I would totally buy it if I had the chance, even with the need of a refret, but if I understand correctly, it is posted on some kind of local forum?

I've been a member on here for more than 10 years and still did you all dirty by posting this without any pics.
Yeah, it's on a local Swedish forum. Not sure if it's also been posted anywhere else. There doesn't seem to be much interest in it so far.

As do I, man. As do I.

I know it's not the original finish but that grain is something special. Top to bottom that guitar looks amazing. Someone in Scandanavia will be happy.

Oh shit, that's beautiful. I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally a burst, given that grain.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Looks like Ben Gibbard got his hands on that one. Very pretty
