The Synth Appreciation topic (Post your much loved synth pix)
I know this is a guitar site.. but we are mostly multi-instrumentalist
noise making, havok wreaking, obsessive compulsive freaks..
which makes for good music too imo.. lets see em.. your desired synths
or the actual synths you own (lucky bastards)!

Yeah, the Microkorg is a powerful little synth. Angie says she loves it too.
I love the Model D Minimoog...
And also the Prophet 5....
mmmmm-hmmmmmm!
Oh and as far as working out how to use the Microkorg goes... reading the manual may help somewhat.

A friend in Leeds used to have one of these....
...I could sit with it for hours getting stoned while I inventing new sounds. He sold it 10 years ago sadly.
I know nothing about keyboards but this one was a lot of fun.

the 60 is similar to the juno 106.. some say the juno 60 is a bit warmer.
but mine has MIDI, although i don't ever use MIDI.. maybe I should one of these days?
also, the 106 has Portamento & vco, but the -60 has arpeggiator & dco (which is prob cooler IMO)
but not huge differences (wood panels are most visible differences)
ALTHOUGH: i kind of want to trick my 106 out like this one! prob cost more than synth itself

My keyboard is useless except for the lo-fi piano sound, which is excellent. It's a Yamaha CS2-X.
My sister and her husband are sponsored musicians by Moog Music though, so I'm get the hook-up on a Little Phatty sometime in the next year or so.

This is one of the reasons why he sold it. Lack of MIDI.noirengineer wrote: the 60 is similar to the juno 106.. some say the juno 60 is a bit warmer.

Re: The Synth Appreciation topic (Post your much loved synth pix)
I only have a Roland D-50, but I've always coveted a Juno.
I recently picked up an Akai MPK49 controller for my Logic softsynths and spent hours mapping all the faders and knobs to the synths as there are no templates! It's fun to play and turn the knobs and the sounds are good, but while I was shopping for the controller I played on a couple Nords and the Moog Little Phatty and really want to get a hold of one or both of those...the new Prophet is cool too...I much prefer the hardware to the software!
a Buchla style modular synth would be cool to own, but I think aside from the mad scientist appeal a Moog or Nord would suit me better.

I don't have this yet but I'll pick it up in a few weeks - a Juno 2.
I've also got a PG-300 programmer on the way.
