New Electric Drum Kit Day

Post by DrQuasar » Wed Dec 02, 2020 4:21 pm

I got an Alesis Nitro Mesh kit for a steep discount the other week.

It's been pretty fun to bang on something and not bother anyone else. My wife could read in bed (with headphones) and it doesn't bother her at all. It's also got a small footprint and fits comfortably in the 3ftx4ft corner between my desk and marimba. The only feature I wish it had was the ability to choke the crash cymbal and I wish the hi-hat pedal was a little more sensitive (that might be adjustable, I haven't looked yet). One bad thing is that the hi-hat on all the preset kits is way too loud but you can adjust it so not too big a deal.

Still wish I could get a real kit but that's not really in the cards for the foreseeable future and this thing will do in the meantime.

Sounds awesome. I’d love one as a recording tool.

Yep. I’m a crap keyboard player, but I’ve learned to copy and paste and edit MIDI notes to arrive at something that sounds decent. I’d love to be able to do the same thing with an instrument I’m better at as an input device.

I used to have a lower end Roland kit, it was a lot of fun. Congratulations!
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Nice!

I used to have a roland brain with a DIY practice pad conversion set up. It worked really well. Gave it to my kid, he's got it stored. If I had room, I'd take it back. Someday I will, I guess. Anyway, congratulations!
This is an excellent rectangle
