47 Tubes and a rat's nest of components on turret board = an organ
Just a little tube/vintage electronics porn. This is from an early 60s Lowrey Holiday electric organ that I picked up for $25 with the original manual packet and a stack of "American Home Organist" music books from '61-'66 or so
The tubes put out enough heat that it also makes a good space heater in the winter months but it sounds so good. The only problem is that the original drive belt for the built in Leslie unit is stretched out and I haven't been able to find a replacement. You can see that it a two-way speaker setup and the rotating unit. The Leslie has a Jensen in it that blows away the no-name speakers in the two way that can barely produce the bass pedal tones without distorting.

Haha, that's exactly what I said. I read the top text and saw the first picture, then I scrolled down, saw the second picture, and said, "Holy crap!" outloud. I've worked on some cars with crazy rat nest wiring. I suppose that isn't the worst ever, but I wouldn't want to have to mess around with that dude too much. Good thing you got the manual!OnlyVees wrote: Holy crap. What's the tube complement?

Hah, the manual is better for a laugh ("Hello, Mr. Owner...") than anything else.
Tube chart:
I only recognize the 7591 and 12ax7. Anything else interesting there?

I briefly owned a Farfisa organ, and it had about that much wiring. It's like every harmonic of every note on the keyboard had its own wire; do the math. Mounted precariously on its stand, that was one topheavy mother. Sounded like pure '60s-garage-band sex.
