That's hott! you know if you bought a reissue when you started gassing it'd be vintage by now. Maybee this year, prices are still divebombing they just anounced more layoffs this month over here.
It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

I think if I really try and save up and if lady luck smiles at me I will be able to get a refin at some point...
god, you know what I'm like, I like old guitars so much, I'd rather have 2-3 old guitars that are exactly as I wanted them than settling for the RI which would probably bother me down the line...
I occasionally swing towards the Goldtop with P90s, because of the availability, but man...the Custom is so close to my personality...it's flamboyant with all the binding, but...at the same time, black, and serious...in a totaly "means business" kinda way.
...and I see it as getting two guitars in one...bridge P90 for all my punk/hard rock needs, and neck alnico for my retirement years where I'll be playing jazz at restaurants!
then JM for all other styles...and J50 for acoustic purposes.
all done
there's one thing for sure, if I do get a LP Custom, I'll most definitely cry when I open the case.

Haha that 65CAR JM I played up at fly by nite made me wanna cry. The neck was perfect the sound was amazing. If it were blue it would be the guitar for me. 6k is way more than I'll ever pay for a guitar though (especialy since I can remember when it was 2k) I'm climbing my way back up though, I'll have vintage again soon.zhivago wrote: there's one thing for sure, if I do get a LP Custom, I'll most definitely cry when I open the case.

yeah, the prices can be so high...I mean, I'm kinda lucky I'm not into humbuckered Les Pauls...then it just gets silly!
I think that know that I'm working two jobs, I should be able to save enough for a refin 50s LP
the way I see it is: pay loads for a guitar, but since I'll keep it till I die or something, it'll work out cheap in the longrun
