:-* too but needs bigsby.

black Gretsch just kill. I'm glad that the Silver Falcon isn't a vintage model or I'd probably be killing myself and my 401-k hunting one down!

Duo-jets kick solid ass, but the 6120 is calling my name!

Way cool! Absolutely needs a Bigsby.

I've got a 6128T-TVP Power Jet with TV Jones Powertrons, Bigsby, locking tuners, pinned bridge and other modern appoinments. A fabulous guitar which has been my #1 since I got it. Grestsches are seriously great instruments and the quality on the newer ones has really gone up since Fender took over. I've also got a 6120DSW with Dynasonics and all the cowboy appointments which is awesome guitars with a character all its own. Here's a photo of them both with a matching set of little amps which really ties the room together, Donny.

Your guitar has a P90 at the neck. Is that original?  Is that what you mean by "messed with"?

The vintage one is the LP-style Duo Jet, the flamey one. The finish is the messed with part!

Digging your Gretsches which bear similarities to mine.
Never saw a Jet in flames before. How's she sound with the Dynasonics?

And what's in the bridge of the 6120? TV Jones? How's that P90 sound in the neck!

That. Guitar. Kills.
I know it's fashionable to brag about guitars but it's seriously the best guitar in the world. The brown DR clone in that picture was built to match the guitar and it's such a stunning combination. It's just the right volume and tone with the guitar in input one of the Vibrato channel with the NFB off and all the knobs up.
Neil Young would approve for sure. It's not the best guitar for chimy clean things but I rarely play clean, it's the perfect amp overdriver, no pedals required!

The other Gretsch is a 5120. The bridge pickup is a HS filter and the neck is a Kent Armstrong P90. The bridge is a Gretsch Synchrosonic and the Bigsby is an old mid-1950s model B3.

Tommy,

Didn't realize that was a 5120 - looks much like a 6120W-1957 Chet with that BIG old dog ear P90 and a Filteron in the bridge in place of the typical Dynasonic. Great job de'Electromatic-ing it. I've played a few 5120's which were really happening guitars for the $$. Nice job!

Oh geezz!  The flames got me completely thrown off, I didn't even noticed it was a gretsch!   I thought it was some kind of epiphone semi-hollow, they made a few with flames.  :-[

And you did such a good job modifying the other that I assumed it was vintage.  Plus, I can't never keep track of Gretsch model numbers.
