new Idiot Bear

Just GarageBanded a new song, called Be Warned - it's a very rough demo, but my first try on GB - I just used the onboard mic to record my singing, piano and guitar.

Nice and poppy!

Your music is enchanting and beautiful. Do you have an album I could buy? Gimme a link.

Thanks very much! Sadly, we split up shortly after we were signed, so no album exists, but I'm hoping to do some proper recording over the summer and self release it (we got back together, but only occasionally - we all live a long way from each other).

As for the singing - it's all my fault  ;)

Your voice is terrific.
Try to make an album of those songs. You guys are too good to give up on it.

Wow, I really appreciate that, man. You'll be the first to know once we've got some good recordings done.  :)

I second that ! you got a great voice + great songs that sound like classics ("they don't show up" IS already a classic !)... you got all you need to make a great album... just need a good recording..  8)
I send you a request on my space right now !  ;)

Thanks, Jeremy! Much appreciated.  :)

Well, I might as well give you the full monty: both guitar parts are my Fender Jaguar run through a 50W Marshall Jubilee combo, rhythm circuit engaged.

Effects on the lead/melody part are a RAT II distortion (modified by Robert Keeley), with distortion set to about 1 o'clock, filter to about 11 o'clock and volume to about 1 o'clock. I'm also using my Electro Harmonix Holy Grail reverb (set to spring, dial turned to about 12 0'clock), and at the end, my Boss DM-2 analog delay (repeat rate maxed out, echo at 12 o'clock and intensity at about 10 o'clock).

Effects on the rhythm guitar part are just my Big Muff.

Superb stuff Juan Carlos, your majesty  :D

The new demos are great -- better than your earlier stuff IMO.

Have three more quintessential effects been invented? Great stuff :)

Now for another gear question: what was used in 'Makeup'?

Basically, exactly the same as on Set a Fire, except there's no delay anywhere in the song, and this time the melody/lead part has the rhythm circuit off, both pickups on, and the strangle switch on.

I'm very flattered by the interest, guys!  Thanks a lot.  :)

I've never been a Marshall fan in terms of my sound, I like cleaner sounds and my AC!5 but damn the Jag sounds good through the Marshall.
