Good choice - been running with a Scarlett 2i2 for about 4 years now, it's excellent.
Initially ran it with an iPad (some rigging done with a camera/power adapter dongle) and recently transitioned to using it with an M1 MacBook Air (base) and am 100% still in love with it. Stone simple to use, sounds pretty good, no reason to upgrade for bedroom demoing.
Mics are a Senn 906 (basically a nicer 609) and an AT2035 Condenser; solid results for a rig that cost about $500 all in (not including the laptop, of course). I've also got a few 57's that I like to use for vocals/acoustic guitar as secondary mics too, can't ever have too many of those lying around.
