Hey guys, my band is in need of a mixer that we can use both in our practices to pair with our powered speakers, and use to record scratch tracks. It doesn't need to be the best sounding by any means, my budget is around $600.
Ideally we'll have the option to record all instruments simultaneously, which would require 8 tracks. Instrument/tracks we're looking at:
3 Drum mics
1 vocal mic
2 micd guitar amps
1 DI bass
1DI synth
Right now I'm looking at this:

Recording equipment isn't really my forte, anyone have any reason why this won't be a good purchase, or alternative suggestions?

Yes that or something used like a Mackie onyx. Get something in a couple more channels than you think you need, like 10 or 12 Might come in handy later and not limit you. And ther are some with on board effects. Other to look at are:
Allen & Heath
Soundcraft
Yamaha
Tascam
Good Luck!
