I would rather have a shitty 300$ drum kit,
1 sm57, and a computer THAN ANY OF THOSE THINGS U MENTIONED!
Been there, done that..
Actually try a Gretsch drum kit with $2000 worth of mics..
and I ended up using Soundreplacer in PT with all the drums

What about trying something like the d fi plugs from PT
Reduce the sampling rate down and add noise?..

Or just run the drums out and through an amp/pedal to dirty em
up a bit?,,

I'd watch out for those cables.  There's a difference between the voltage in a line input and a mic input.  You'll be putting the microphone into a line input, and in the end will need to boost the signal considerably to get what you want.  While this is doable, this will also amplify the noise floor a huge amount for messy sounding recordings.  I think a better solution would be to throw down like 100 bucks for a usb preamp with a mic input.  Check out m-audio, they probably have some pretty good ones.
