Yeah, they (the 635a) were really popular among journalists as an interview mic, and apparently they’re pretty great for that, too.

Tough as nails; omni. That’s two boxes ticked for that job

Make me a good deal on a 4B or 2B?
Sorry, its a real pita getting anything out of there.
Beleive me, ive watched 1176s 1178s, H4000s, Mini Neve desks, Avalon compressors, 224s etc etc..
get dragged out of our rooms (where they were just fillin up rack space as we switched to entirely ITB 20 years ago)
and put into storage where ive asked and its been .. um no, its just decommisioned..
Though I was able to score Auratones, NS10s, Paradigms, Tannoys, a pallet of sound panels, and various other lil nick nacks
since I started there in 2001.. I really wanted one of those mini neves.. haha.. They were line mixers, without Direct outs, but
ive heard of people modding them for direct out.. they were in offline edit suites.. replaced with Yamaha 01Vs..

Is this just because James Murphy uses one?
I think its because Pink FLoyd used them that James used them.. But I could be wrong
They were already $$ before LCD was that big
