last night...lots of glitching in nuendo and then clanking from the system drive...
then death.
i reckon the c: drives had some kind of mechanical failure
thank god i had a different disc for the music data and for a backup two weeks ago
time to buy a new HD

Thats SUCKS! At least you didn't lose everything. I had a boss BR8 that died on me so I feel your pain. Fortunately I was able to replace it with something better, so if you look at it that way it really was a good thing for me. Hope it turns out better for you too!

Last night my recording PC just fried! It's over 5 years old so its not surprise. It froze and I tried to reboot it, but nothing would happen. I tried everything, but it kept freezing right after power up. Dead! ARGH!

replced the HD, bought a super-quiet psu and now it's better than ever.
thankfully i'd backed up, but i've lost a lot of settings and plug-ins
at least it's back up now
