so a while ago i got a rubix 22. my friend is wanting me to send off a few guitar/bass tracks for them and i've noticed that all the direct guitar tones i record sound both thin and overblown unless i turn the gain all the way down..... then they just sound thin. i decided to use some hardware preamps to see if i could get a little extra bass back into the tone but same issue..... still thin.
anyone know what the issue is? i tried it in different daws

Do you have the direct monitoring on the Rubix on when relistening to the recordings? On my scarlett solo everything sounds thin if I forget to turn that off.
