Sunburst MIJ Jag w/ black

I've been thinking of swapping the red tortoiseshell pickguard on my MIJ jag with a black one... of course this also leaves the pickup covers wanting. Since this is not a vintage instrument (it is a 1996 so-called '62), I am not as concerned about authenticity. I kindof like the stoner-70s look of the black on sunburst, but am curious if this is an abomination in the eyes of others.

I will confess that I have ordered a stay-trem arm, w/ black tip. So maybe there is no going back.

Personally, I think the white pickup covers would look kickass with the black guard.

I could see the pickup covers going either way, but I like the black guard much better than the red tort

Yes the more I look at it the more heavily I am leaning in favor of the black. Weird though that the pickguards are like $20 a set for black and $3 for white.

I actually made such a thing, but with JM pups.



I like it, but don't love it. I've never loved busts, and this one is poly, so I think about refinishing it about once a week.
