I don't think it's a Fender. Looks like some kind of 60's Japanese guitar with a fake Fender logo.

I have my doubts too.
Below the logo it has this written:
"protected widely by patents & pantent applications Made in England"
Maybe I am going to disassemble it so I can find a little more info. At the end it would be a nice study project to learn about modding a guitar, if I can find the proper components

I'm going to guess Teisco or department store brand. That adjustable mount on the neck pickup is actually kinda cool.

That? That's a Fender Plasticmaster. Pre CBS, limited run, extremely rare...
Joking aside, have you plugged it in?

Actually I have not had time to plug it in, I just got it from a garage sale (do not know if it is working). I am going to try this weekend and see what happens, maybe play a little rocksmith with it so maybe not everything is lost

By the swiveling neck pickup, inlays and general shape it looks like one of these:

Or at least the same guitar but possibly under a different name originally but almost certainly not Fender.

It's the new American Standard Jazzmaster.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I used to be really into Japanese guitars from this era because of the weird things they would do to them, the rotating pickup being one of them.

Re: what model is this fender?
at a rather sad point in Fender's life. . . they "licensed" many folks to make Fender guitars.
I'll bet this was one.
And it does look like an old Airline Guitar so I'm pretty sure it was an English Department Store model from the late 70's.

+1 that it looks japanese. Looks amazing though and that neck pickup is cool.
