Hardtail Jaguar
Remember the project I mentioned about the hardtail Jag? The one where I ruined the body and shelved it?
Here's a workup of the new proposal from the dressing room and MS Paint.
I like it so far:

This is cool! I was just playing in the dressign room with some Jag pickup variations...
So how many projects does this make for you now? It seems like about 13 or so...

Hehe.. it feels like 13.
But actually it's only 3. The 75 Tele comes first. Then the Jazzmaster. And then this Jag.
I have everything for the Tele, everything but the body for the Jag, and nothing but the pickguard and some vintage parts for the JM.
I love the look of that Jag!

Re: Hardtail Jaguar
How did you get the pickguard and the bridge on there? As far as I know that was'nt an option?

They aren't options, he's just using an old Jedi mind trick.stanthenewguy wrote: How did you get the pickguard and the bridge on there? ??? As far as I know that was'nt an option?

Re: Hardtail Jaguar
I built it as a Jazzmaster in the Dressing room, and then put it in MS Paint. I cut the bridge out of a photograph (of a Toronado) and pasted it in. I had to cut and paste the surroundings to match. The guard I drew myself and pasted in the blocks of tortoise. I even drew the JAG logo. It's still a 21 fret 25.5" neck though. I thought it would be too much trouble to shorten and refret it...stanthenewguy wrote: How did you get the pickguard and the bridge on there? ??? As far as I know that was'nt an option?
I wish I had a better program than archaic old Paint.

Essentially, yes. :)Aug wrote: a Duo II with Jag pups...that *is* interesting! :)
I've done this already with a MIM duo body and a '78 Musicmaster neck. It only took a slight enlarging of the pup cavities at the top with my dremel, and a custom pickguard.
But I want to do it this time with a proper Jag body and control plate, and with a string-through bridge. I'm planning to re-use that same MM neck I used on the Duo. I'll probably angle the pickups too, something I couldn't do on the proposal above in primitive MS Paint.

Re: Hardtail Jaguar
looks great.. it's very close to what I'd like to do with the body you sent me but I'd like to have 25.5 scale like a JM
will it be as easy as putting on a JM neck?

Re: Hardtail Jaguar
Sure! You'll just have to locate the bridge proportionally. That's not a problem since you'll be making your own guard.daydreamdelay wrote: looks great.. it's very close to what I'd like to do with the body you sent me but I'd like to have 25.5 scale like a JM
