Finding a Color for the Grimace Caster
One of my best friends gets married next summer. He plays guitar and his wife is a pro-singer. It's amazing because for a few years he was hitting some tough times - then meets an amazing woman and he's been a changed man since.
He knows *nothing* about gear, much less spec'ing out his own guitar. He has an Epi Sheraton he's played since 2000, but dreams of a JM or Strat.
Not sure what I'll do for his fiance yet, but I want to assemble a bunch of parts into a banger of a guitar for him.
Here's the thing: purple is his favorite color, and we've been LOling hard over all the Grimace Shake videos on Instagram (people say "HBD Grimace", drink the shake, and later on end up face down in a river or being chased through the woods at midnight). Hilarious.
What's the color... a lavender? Any recs on finding "the right color" would be appreciated.
thinking somewhere between this:
and this, which is easier for me to stomach but he might actually prefer the lighter one:

I'm not much help, but these memes have been hilarious. Some of them are so well done but together so quickly. It makes me wonder if McDonald's themselves were involved.
I do wish shadowplay still posted here as I think it's so random thay Grimace drives an early Lotus Esprit, I'm sure he would have had something interesting to say about it.

I think he means the colour of the milkshake, not the character.
I had to look it up, and apparently it looks like this:

Re: Finding a Color for the Grimace Caster
^ that’s it, the shake colour!
It just became a running joke because he’s a massive health nut and his fiancé loves to eat fast food now and again - anyone else but her and he’d be livid. He mentioned he was bringing her the Grimace shake the other day and I just had to caution him that she might start levitating from the bed in the middle of the night; eyes aglow.
So far I haven’t seen an affordable production body that just seems right, but Strats are so ubiquitous that I’m bound to get there. I might even opt for a lavender pickguard, purple covers, the whole shebang.
He’ll be grateful for a great axe, and we can laugh for years about the meme come to life.

I believe you are looking for Lavender mist.
Great colour.
Great colour.

$500 in parts, more or less?
I can always refinish used bodies and implement Squier Strat necks.
I just want the color right

He is pretty dark purple. The shake is lighter because it is a vanilla base with berry flavor.
This is a nice dark purple MIM Strat for your budget cost.

A little more for a Jag.

Not sure I trust DH Gate, but there is this for $300.

The new Squier Ultraviolet would be a pretty good bet I think:
