jaguar

Post by bayman » Tue Feb 27, 2024 1:34 pm

I am a music teacher in rural Newfoundland. I end up doing setups and repairs on instruments. I was brought this and I am stymied. Mr. Google can't even seem to find it! Can anyone help? No markings besides Jaguar on the headstock and the pickups. Can't seem to upload a pic. (help?) The headstock is pointed upward with the tuners on the bottom of the head. It has 3 pickups, 1 - 5 position selector, tone , volume and a tiny toggle switch. Above the nut there is a string lock and the bridge has micro tuners and a whammy bar. Any idea anyone?

edit....was about to post this: I think there was a Canadian brand called "Jaguar" that made more of the super-strat variety.

Just curious as to who made it where, how many were made, value then (40 yrs ago) and now, or any other bit of info. Thanks.

I think the post above about it being a Canadian brand is your best lead, and the branded pickups definitely screams original parts. But that vibrato is or at least looks to be the same as came on Vester guitars, a kind of cheapo mix between a floating strat vibrator and a Floyd.

So maybe built in Asia (Korea?) and then fitted and finished in Canada?
