New member, new guitat

Post by mwmeci » Fri Feb 17, 2023 12:36 pm

<t>My 1st Jazzmaster. Vintera 60's Modified in 3 color sunburst.<br/>
Mostly hang out at strat talk and squier talk. Used to collect Ibanez Artist and Stagemasters and belonged to the Ibanez Collectors World Forum. They use the same format for attaching photos as this site so I'll post a photo when I figure it out.<br/>
Anyway the guitar was used and needed the frets polished, fretboard oiled, truss rod tightened, and new strings. Also I lowered the pickups. Really impressed with this guitar. Love the P90 type single coils with Alnico V magnets. I got the tremolo close to set up. The arm wobbles a bit.

The guitar in your picture is a classic player, I think.

What makes you think that?

What make you think that?
It has a TOM bridge and the vibrato looks to be moved closer for a better break angle.
The vinteras are closer to vintage spec.
Both MIM. Both decent guitars.

The names of the Vintera are deceiving as they both are called Vintera 60s …

In my understanding there are two lines:
- the Vintera 60s Modified which basically continue the Classic Player legacy (TOM+closer vibrato position, 9,5“ radius, hotter P90esque Jazzmaster Pickups and Humbuckers for the Jaguars) with some new and some old colours
- and then there are the (non modified) Vintera 60s models that are pretty close to vintage specs (vintage vibrato spacing, 7,25“ radius, vintage voiced pickups and some very nice colours) - but as they just have to do justice/an approximation to „any“ 60s sound they are not as true of reissues as the AVRI 62 and 65s were.

From Fenders serial number site.
Mine has a 9.5" radius, closer bridge, adjusto-matic bridge.

Good tip. This place is legit.
