Looking for my first Jazzmaster in Italy!

Post by davidpggarrett » Thu Oct 20, 2022 5:49 am

Looking for my first Jazzmaster and would appreciate any tips on finding reissues, both U.S.-built and Japanese. The more traditional the better, especially tone-wise. Looking to buy in Italy or ship from Europe. I'm open to used as well as new.

Aesthetically, I'm keen on sunbursts with tortoise shell guards, but have also fallen in love with a tort-guarded - so the new sunburst AV II is a contender but a touch pricey. Lake Placid Blue American Original 60s I saw in London this year (not so keen on the matching headstock version offered in the new American Vintage II series).

Also excited to say I'm picking up my first offset 6-string tomorrow - a new Kurt Cobain Jaguar. Fingers crossed it's a goodie! 🤞

David, Florence

Ciao from Austria.

I just know the LoFi store in Italy. Got my DBA Super Fuzz War from them - more of a
Pedal shop these days - but they used to sell Fender electrics too.

Lots of stuff to be found in germany (ebay-kleinanzeigen.de) and sometimes even in Austria (willhaben.at) - lately I found some good deals on Jaguars…

Wow, good tips there. I'll check out the LoFi store but also the German/Austrian options! Grazie mille...

Are you familiar with Mercatino Musicale? It's worth keeping an eye on for used gear.

Yes, it's a good site. Subito.it can be useful too.
