FINALLY seeing The Raveonettes on 06/03 in Seattle!
There’s a three day stretch then that is just epic (and I’ll make 2 out of 3 at best):
Monday: Raveonettes
Tuesday: Miki Berenyi Trio and Lol Tolhurst/Budgie
Wednesday: Chameleons (we’re opening) (I’ll definitely be at that one)
I’ll be at the Chameleons and I will make a point of checking you guys out!
Cool! (Also: it’s an early show: doors 7, music 7:30. They’re probably an “early bird” joke in there somewhere, with Burgess being credited as Birdy sometimes).
Also on my list:
Built to Spill and Yo La Tengo (BTS is doing Nothing Wrong with Love which is one of my very favorites of the genre and era).
Johnny Marr at the Moore. Nice to see him work his way up from the clubs to theaters. I think the kid’s got talent! James is opening, and I’ve been listening to Laid a fair amount lately (having mostly ignored them back in the day, changing that thanks somewhat to the Brian Eno diaries book).

I'll also be at BTS & YLT. Also upcoming for me:
Quasi (playing the Featuring Birds album)
Redd Kross
Day In Day Out Fest (My Daughter: Suki Waterhouse - Me: Amyl & the Sniffers)
The Chameleons (as I previously mentioned)

Tonight I am seeing Deap Vally in Hackney. It is their second to last show ever, and my first time seeing them as their last London headline show had an age limit I was too young for.

They were great at King Tuts a couple of nights ago. Sad to see them go, but I saw them do a good few shows (mostly at King Tuts which seems to be their spiritual Glasgow home-from-home) back in what the kids used to call "the day".

Redd Kross
I've been waiting for them to schedule another UK tour for ages, they had one announced just before COVID that got rescheduled for 2021, and then completely cancelled. They're doing a single date in Spain either this month or next month and I was hoping there would be some other shows arranged around it, but
something has made it harder for acts to include the UK in a European tour.

I'm kind of gutted as I bought tickets for
Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets then realised my son's coming down for the weekend on that night, so I can't go.
Luckily I was able to sell my ticket to a friend who didn't have one yet, but I'm sorry to miss it as the guy who bought my ticket has seen them twice before and really rates them....
and he saw (The) Pink Floyd twice during the Syd Barrett era.

next week: Surfer Joe's Summer Festival - with LANGHORNS!!! (my all time favorite Surf Band), Slacktone, The Phantom Surfers, LHD (3/4 from Bambi Molesters), Pollo del Mar, The Razorblades, Tremolo Beer Gut,...
Before: NoFive (a 12 headed Orchestra featuring our Drummer along with a Bassist and nine guitars, all playing through Marshall Full stacks... also: featuring 2 Jags, 2 Mustangs, 3 Jazzmasters a Strat and a Yamaha Revstar so pretty offset dominant) playing Bruckner's fifth.
in July Khruangbin
in August The Wytches 10 year anniversary of "Annabell Dream Reader" in London! Maybe we stay a whole week in the UK and will visit one of the three Psych Fests (Manchester, Brighton, Edinburgh) - might add a few shows before/after.
in November BaBa ZuLa - Turkish Psychedelic at its finest...

It‘s Lada on Bass, Hrovje on Drums and Dinko on Guitar (therefore LHD) from Bambi Molesters - missing Dalibor.
I only knew their (BM) music - never saew them live…and they seem to have split up quite some time ago… and I remember talking to someone at last year‘s Surfer Joe‘s Summer Festival that I wished for a revival. And here we are!
It‘s more overall 60s Sound - no pure Surf but I quite enjoyed it when I first heard it. Looking forward to get the LP.
Go have a listen!

Awesome, awesome , awesome. BM were an excellent live band. I had the luck seeing them twice . The first time in Berlin and the second time was at Posthof Graz (with Wild Evel and the Trashbones as support band
) … a long long time ago.

I‘m really looking forward to their set (and the whole festival)
Where are you from?
Wild Evel are probably the biggest Austrian 60s Garage flavored band here in Austria.
