Just gonna leave this here...

https://soundcloud.com/billy-gashade/m ... no-1-satie

I did this demo on a Jagmaster I had for a little while, wanna do better versions on Jazzmaster, Bass VI, classical, etc...

I want to do all the Gymnopedies & Gnossiennes, maybe figure out appropriate medleys.

Also this is really great:

Slowdive's "Erik's Song" (1991) is inspired by and named after Erik Satie:

I just found this, and it gives me Satie vibes. I don’t know much about the guy other than he’s Japanese.

Love that this thread exists. Always thought Pygmalion by Slowdive was very Satie-esque as much as a guitar band with vocals could be. That said, would also rep for the Durutti Column's early albums which sound a lot like Pygmalion style stuff done by a post-punker in league with the Joy Division/New Order/Factory crew from back in the day. Those have even less vocals.

Super stoked to see Loren Connors already mentioned in this thread and July Skies as well. Imma go ahead and say Talk Talk's final two albums and Bark Psychosis as well just to complete the circle.

On Pygmalion they sample Stockhausen (trellisaze) and the cover is graphic notation (rainer wehinger) of a Ligeti piece!

*p.s. would mention my band is called Nossiennes, but probably more influence by slowdive than satie...as in we don't sound much like but i want to make 'impressionistic' music.
