I used to be cool, now I just complain about prices.

Re: HUM
that's interesting.....I though the drummer just plays way outside the beat. I think its the reverby iso of the drums...

Re: HUM
Thanks for posting the link to the album.
It reminds me of Helmet for some reason.
the drums don't sit in the mix very well.
It sounds as if my neighbnour is playing drums along to the songs.

Re: HUM
Downward is Heavenward will always be the pinnacle of the band IMHO, but Inlet is a fucking gem. Yes, the drums are a bit antiseptic sounding, but it really doesn't take away from the songs enough to change my thoughts on the album. It REALLY holds up.
I honestly think this is one of those "after-a-long-hiatus-albums" that sits in the rest of a band's discography with the likes of MBV & Beyond/Farm/I Bet on Sky/Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not.

Re: HUM
Was fortunate enough to be at the show here in Kentucky where "The Summoning" was debuted. Great guys, always so nice and gracious enough to endure awkward, gushing praise from fans. Tim's Yeti was the first Dunable I'd heard live; good-looking offset, and sounded awesome.
Inlet was a slow burn, and took a few listens before it clicked with me as a whole, but now I'm a believer. Even the production (which didn't grab me on the first listen) is something I've since fallen in love with. Have been looking forward to this record for 20 years, and it didn't disappoint in the least.
Somewhat Hum-related note: Balthazar de Ley, (Hum's original bassist) builds excellent guitar amps in Chicago: https://www.balthazaramps.com/
