Eric Dolphy Quintet - Outward Bound
I’m getting old and have listened to a lot of records a lot of times. This is one of the, I don’t know, top five records in my life. It’s inside my cells.

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
I played in a lot of bands in Atlanta and NYC in the ‘90s. Many members of my musical community, especially those just a few years older than me, regarded the Stones’ 1968-1973 output to be the most important art ever produced. Looking back, it almost seemed like a cult. I myself was drawn to those records even in middle school, but Hendrix had already claimed me, and I never totally converted. Regardless, it occurs to me suddenly that it’s 2021, and what once seemed a given - Beggars Banquet -> Goats Head Soup = holy scripture - might no longer be so. Do young folks still study those records?
