Right now my better half is playing some Hall & Oates Best Of she bought this afternoon. I was never a fan, or even someone who would tolerate them, back in their heyday, but compared to some of the water under the bridge since those days I've definitely heard worse. Maybe I'm becoming a reverse curmudgeon or something; I was definitely more scathing about relatively inoffensive music in my youth than I am nowadays.

She also bought the new Sufjan Stevens album and one by Midlake, so I'll probably get along better with at least one of those.

The new Sufjan Stevens album is possibly his most consistent for me. I love it. Bethel Woods is a grower, too.

Also, early Hall & Oates is great. Abandoned Luncheonette is a killer album. The unreleased tracks from this album are awesome: Dry In The Sun (Spotify)

The "That Thing You Do!" soundtrack just got put out on vinyl and my copy delivered today, so I'm listening to that, of course. A legitimately fantastic soundtrack (and it isn't just "That Thing You Do!" 13 times in a row.)

It's one of my favorite movies, and hell, I even have a tattoo that's a reference to it. I'm a fucking nerd.
