If you're into early Sonic Youth or Dinosaur Jr. Here's our first record.

Man this is cool. Not that it sounds like a rip-off AT ALL - I can see any fan of the melodic Sonic Youth stuff digging this.
Man, thanks a bunch, usually we're into atmospheric ambient stuff but the band was really jonesing for Sonic Youth stuff lately from the drummer all the way to the keyboard guy, we decided to listen to a bunch of stuff and write some songs based off our favourites which were Skip Tracer, Providence, NYC Ghost and Flowers etc ... We saw an interview with Barry Gibbs from the BGs who said that he'd write his songs after listening to the Beatles for a week straight so we went the same way ... it was tough getting the guitars tuned properly, right string gauges etc ... but we liked what came from it ... Ironically we usually don't like to listen to our own stuff but in this case, it's like we made a record for each other.

I've been working on new recordings with my current band, when I was struck with feelings of needing closure on a couple of tracks I'd recorded a few years back (different band). I never did finish them and it's always bugged me, so over the break I spent some time to finish them up. Feels good, to finally exhale and let them go.

My musician friends and I do a biweekly online open mic. I worked up a simple acoustic version of Fugazi’s Argument for last night and figured I’d grab a video while I had everything set up.

first "official" release

Simple, fast and short. Jazzmasters are great for punk rhythm guitar. Can't wait to play this stuff live.

i just released a "companion" album to my upcoming full length to be released later this winter/early spring 2021.
this is a soundtrack to a film that doesn't exist, a tribute to 70s Italian horror films and the soundtracks that made them what they are.

you can listen here! https://musiqueconcrete.bandcamp.com/album/ombra-oscura

Some friends of mine and I have been doing what we call the "Seed Project" all quarantine, where one person records an idea, sends it randomly to someone else, where they add a part, and so on and so forth. We have 24 completed songs so far (and are working on more) and just put them up on Bandcamp here: https://seedproject.bandcamp.com/

Some of them are REAL weird, but there's a lot of cool stuff in there too.

Hi Offset folks,

It's taken me ages to discover these little hives of guitar geekery but this is great, love seeing the positivity and lovely people sharing what they are about...

We just finished our first ep, it's a punk rock noise drum machine thing. There was definitely a Cobain mustang in the mix at some point as well... Anyhow, hopefully it has an 80s Albini influenced post punk hardcore thing going on but I hope brings something else to the table as well.

Thanks for supporting independent DIY music all and let me know if you wanna talk gear, my favourite pastime...
Cheers,
Jake

Who likes giving feedback?

I binged on making demos, and changed my solo moniker. Never really felt i was recording what i wanted to before, almost intentionally.

Not perfect, but I've enjoyed using EZdrummer and Kuassa amp sims.

These are the demo phase, not mixed, and not proper vocals yet. I did some improvised 'notes' of vocals, so i could self-specialise later. Only started around late November but some tracks are about a year old from frustrating delays with a band (the drummer must have turned up 2-3 times in a year for a proper session other than getting shit together before a gig, and the other guitarist wants to rewrite everything and tell everyone what to play even though never once bringing a song or just chilling the f* out, so fuckit i've started it myself and at least covid is an excuse.)

Maybe i'll actually mix half and actually release half of that as an EP, but continuing making these (if not quite this rate) especially since its lockdown anyway (perhaps a decent album in a year?)

We recorded an album during the pandemic times. Unfortunately our last show was back in July and since then ... nothing.

I would say the sounds are related to classic guitar music. Some rock, some power pop, some 60's, some post punk ...

Here the album links in case you find the time:
