Favorite Music Movies? Fictional or biographical Dramatizations...(Not Live)

Post by RumorsOFsurF » Tue Mar 06, 2007 3:53 pm

What is your fav music movies?
Fictional or biographical dramatizations, no live performance vids (These go here:  index.php?topic=1464.0 )

I would say Rock and Roll movie, but that would limit the result too much!!
My apologies if this has been posted before... ::)

Here are some of mine:

The Wall (My #1)
This is Spinal Tap (of course)
Eddie and the Cruisers
That Thing You Do
Rockstar (Based loosely on Ripper Owens, Judas Priest...Priest is one of my guilty pleasures)
Detroit Rock City
Crossroads (Ralph Macchio, not little girl's movie)
Help!
Walk the Line
Tender Mercies (Robert Duvall)
Pure Country

That's a lot, I know....  ;D
Damn kids, get off my lawn!

Not that many are coming to mind immediately (I'll probably chip in tomorrow with loads and loads that I've seen or something) but the one that does spring to mind is "Refused are fucking dead", a documentary about the end of Refused. I like it a lot.

I've only seen 3 and I like them all:

Meeting People is Easy (Radiohead),

A Hard Days Night

and

Live at Astoria (Radiohead again)

I guess "Sonic Youth |Corporate Ghost| The videos 1990-2002" is not really a music video, but it's great anyway

I desperately need to see Spinal Tap  :(

In America, we have these things called DeeVeeDees. You can watch an old movie from a little round disk!

Edited to add:    ;)

I know, but I don't feel like spending money on DVD's (that's what we call them over here  :)), I'm a lazy ***** and I prefer spending it on cd's or gear.

Yes! That's one of my favorites as well.

I love the theme of redemption....

I love '50s Rock and Roll and I still pull out La Bamba every once in a while.  The ending always chokes me up...
:(
One more guitar, then I'll practice!
