Recommendations for twangy, echoey, 50s music?

Hey Gang,

Looking to expand my collection of stuff from the 50s. I'm already into a lot of the classics (Elvis, Eddie Cochrane, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Wanda Jackson, Everlys, etc.), but looking for some more. Especially interested in stuff that leans into the twangy and echoey or the sort of doomy-sounding pop of the era. I'm thinking I need some Duane Eddy and some Dion at least.

Any recs on good albums or comps to check out?

I’m not sure this is all 50’s, but…

There’s the whole Phil Spector thing. Lots of pathos in many of those songs.

Link Wray and Roy Orbison of course.

I really like eerie doo wop stuff like The Flamingos’ “I Only Have Eyes For You”.

Oh, and I love The Shadows.

Cliff Richards I could take or leave though.

Shadows bassist Jet Harris has some solo material that would fit the bill

Have you ever heard of Johnny „Guitar“ Watson ?
Here is Space Guitar, from 1954.

So ahead of his time!
