OSG MUSIC COLAB Thread and Section
Post your pieces of music and requests for colab with others....
ex: Need bass part for this??
ex: Face ripping solo needed
ex. I play synth: need synth lines???
I know this goes on kind of behind the scenes here maybe, but there are tons of people who might just want to share files and songs bits to do some cool stuff. SO: I'm using Studio One...I can share WAV or MP3 files....I guess to an email....how does this normally work?

Re: OSG MUSIC COLAB Thread and Section
I’ve done a few things like this. It’s pretty fun.
I don’t have a ton of free time, so I would want to do things that are pretty low commitment.
I can do other stuff, but the things I really like to do on recordings is:
- lush multitracked acoustic guitars
- harmony vocals
- bass
- hand percussion (shakers, tambourines, etc…)
On the other side of things I’ve been pretty into doing very simple and often live acoustic guitar and vocal recordings. I could pick a song or two to put down if anyone wants to go nuts on it Four Tet remix style.
I work in GarageBand, but as long as your track starts at zero and I know the BPM I can work with it.

I need some congas & percussion on an acoustic track if anyone is interested?
We are merely moving shadows.

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Hey dude aren't you the one I sent that Zoom R16 multitrack thing to? Have you used it? Or maybe that was someone else. If you're not using anymore I do have a pal here who could use it. If you are using it, no worries!
I can provide surf guitar leads and chords.

Re: OSG MUSIC COLAB Thread and Section
That‘s sound nice.
I can do some surfy and anatolian/arabic influenced stuff as well as funky guitars and some heavy riffing with a catchy (pop?) character.
Maybe also melancholic leads.
And I‘m slowly getting started with drone stuff and Bass.
I‘m often in need for drums (mostly surfy and some rock stuff).

If I wanted to participate, but was a technological Luddite…what would I do?

All you really need is a way to record digitally to a set BPM, and be able to import the track from your partner that you will be playing along to/recording your part for.Chippertheripper wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 2:32 pmIf I wanted to participate, but was a technological Luddite…what would I do?
A computer-based DAW setup is the simplest way to accomplish all of that. There are many free options.
I can really get as nerdy on this topic as you want, but it’s not hard or expensive.

Re: OSG MUSIC COLAB Thread and Section
There was an OSG collab many years ago, we did a cover of Radiohead's "There, there". I can't remember who started it (and provided the main guitar part), but I remember former member Idiotbear did the vocals and I did the Johnny Greenwood guitar part towards the end.
I'll see if I can dig it up...

Re: OSG MUSIC COLAB Thread and Section
I found the thread, but the links are all dead of course. I must have the song saved on an old hard drive though, I'll have a look after work.
From what I can tell from the thread, the final line-up of The Offsets ( ) was:
Meshuggahnans - rhythm guitar, toms, programming, mixing
Mescalhead - bass
Mynamesjonas - lead guitar
Idiotbear - vocals
