Good Johnny Marr interview on Broken Record

Post by bipedal2 » Fri Sep 15, 2023 8:14 am

I knew a bit about Marr's work with The Smiths and Modest Mouse, but not much beyond.

I really enjoyed this conversation, hearing about his many collaborations, his approach to music making, and his guitar influences (though minimal guitar "shop talk" beyond a brief mention near the end about his 9 pickup (?!?) guitar).

I've always got time for Johnny Marr. He comes across as such a humble yet very driven guy. Really level-headed. I could listen to his voice, or his music, for hours.

Thanks for posting this. I'm a quarter of the way through & it's time for bed. Looking forward to the rest tomorrow.
(I already know the Strat story) :)

Thanks for posting. Interesting interview (esp. as we're also listening to the Marr autobio book on tape on roadtrips).
Always worth the time to listen to him.
