Released my first single today!
Getting ready to put out a record this October and finally got around to a single release - it’s called Less Sun. There’s a nylon string playing in 7/8 time, an Epiphone casino run through a Behringer Model D filter, a bassline that I can’t get out of my head…if that sounds like your kind of thing, check it out. And if doesn’t sound like your kind of thing, check it out anyway!
It’s out now on bandcamp at withesounds.bandcamp.com and on Spotify Here
OSG nerdery - the main riff was played on a stock AV65 Jazzmaster through a silver panel Princeton reverb with a pretty simple, killer pedal rig
I hope y’all dig it!

This is very nice - well done!
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments.

Re: Released my first single today!
Thanks for the kind words y’all!
Sorry, to clarify - the main rhythm guitar is nylon string layered with a filtered casino, that slapback tone you’re asking about is the AV65 Jazzmaster, running through a strymon deco and a couple other things! He gets such a good sound out of it.seenoevil II wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 12:58 pmtasty

Re: Released my first single today!
Glad y'all are digging it! I appreciate it.
I really love his playing and I feel like that bassline absolutely makes the song, I was so stoked on it when he first came up with it and even now I still get hyped when I hear it.
More offset love! My buddy played his Mustang bass, strung up with LaBella flats. It's one of those basses that also has the jazz pickup in the bridge and I think he was using both pickups. He tracked through his solid state Sunn guitar head (not sure which model), into his Ampeg 4x10 cab if I remember right. We re-amped the bass track through a cassette tape deck for the bridge section and cranked it to get that really gnarly fuzzy tone.bluemonday wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 10:49 amListening right now! Sounds great. Congrats on the release. Reminds me of early Swervedriver in all the best ways.
