Even though Ned's was squarely in my list of bands that I liked back then, I never kept them around on my playlists/CD shelves, etc. When a Ned's song comes up on the shuffle, I'll dig it, but I don't seek them out.

Never heard the term 'Crusty' before for that kind of scene... pretty amusing. I guess I was too busy being gothpunkstraightedgewhatever- we just knew people who were into 'decent' music like that were acceptable members of the 'people we didn't necessarily hate/scorn' category.

I freaking LOVED early The Wonder Stuff, still do in fact- my band even opened for Miles Hunt on one of his solo tours in the twenny-teens.
