Re: Ramones
I dig the early music as much as anyone, but Danny Says is practically perfect in every way in my opinion.
It was actually the first song I sang to my daughter shortly after she was born.

That's very cute, it definitely has a lullaby type quality to it.

Re: Ramones
so i love the ramones. they seem to be one of those "reset my mood" bands. it's also super nostalgic to me being it would be what me and my friends would listen to while hanging out at the skate park. there was a few artists everyone there could agree on and they were one (motorhead and the beastie boys were the other 2)
i always see people talk about the first 4 ramones albums but i rarely hear people mention too tough to die which is super underrated imho.

I love The Ramones and their music. Still, I think you can dislike their music, but love The Ramones

Re: Ramones
Too Tough To Die fucking bangs, easily one of their best albums. That and Ramones are their only two albums that I put every track onto my favourites plsylist.s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 7:36 amso i love the ramones. they seem to be one of those "reset my mood" bands. it's also super nostalgic to me being it would be what me and my friends would listen to while hanging out at the skate park. there was a few artists everyone there could agree on and they were one (motorhead and the beastie boys were the other 2)

Re: Ramones
Have you heard this version? I'm a fan of the tune as well, and hearing it in this more typical, stripped down style was a revelation for me.

Re: Ramones
My kids once heard “Blitzkreig Bop” on the radio when they were 2 and 4 years old, respectively. They then requested to hear it for months after that, so I just played the first album all the way through nearly every day for about a year on the way to the school where I work and they are students. Not the worst way to commute!
As for the comments about everyone going through a ramones phase, I get it. I kind of feel the same way about Dinosaur Jr. Whenever I get one of their albums, i play the crap out of of it for, like, two weeks, but then never listen to it again.

Re: Ramones
AWESOME!!!! Cool dad, and lucky kids! I laughed at that vision and then realized I’ve got a similar story, except with Static Age haha! This cool younger fellow I work with has two kids, I think 2 and 4 also. We were talking about music and how he still listens to Pearl Jam. Trying not to judge, I asked him about punk stuff and it turned out he had almost zero exposure. So I recommended Static Age. Fast forward a few weeks and he tells me his kids are stuck singing the whoa-oh-whoas from Some Kind Of Hate all day long, and that they love the whole album.

I've seen a few people wearing their T-shirts. Are they any good?

Re: Ramones
My kid is like this with the Ramones and Beck, he will play them all the time and force me to play them in the car most mornings. I suppose I am like this with newer Superchunk albums. I like them a lot until I never play them again which is about 3 weeks I'd say.wproffitt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 12:53 pmMy kids once heard “Blitzkreig Bop” on the radio when they were 2 and 4 years old, respectively. Re: Ramones
I hate to say it but they're one of those bands that just do nothing for me.
