Mouser - AHHH!!! NOT AGAIN! ...my bands new EP
So, my new band launched our first EP this morning. After years of making complicated beard-stroking music I decided I wanted to go back to writing just songs. We recorded and mixed these all ourselves, instruments all tracked live in the same room. A full-offset compliment of Jaguar, Mustang and Jazz Bass for the guitars. I sing and play guitar, and write the songs.
FFO: jangly power-pop/punk
Here is the link to our Bandcamp
Hopefully it'll land on Spotify and all the other evil streaming services in a week or so. Would be intrigued to know your thoughts.

Production sounds great & it’s super catchy. Reminds me a lot of Consumed on first listen. which is never a bad thing. Will give it a proper listen
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Very nice! I’m picking up some Dinosaur Jr. (mainly in the vocal phrasing) and a little bit of The Jam. Meet Me At The Morgue is my current favorite. That is a damn catchy song.

Thanks! I've had a couple of people say Dino Jr and The Jam (specifically In The City era) so far... also Buzzcocks, The Replacements, Lemonheads, etc. I've been listening to a lot of old 70s & 80s power-pop-rock recently, as well as my usual 90s stuff from my teens and it's definitely coming through in the songs.marqueemoon wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 8:32 amVery nice! I'm getting a faint hint of House of Large Sizes on the back of my palate from Get It Off Your Chest and that'll be the best part of my week.

Gave it a listen and I really dig it. It feels a lot like the punk/alt stuff that was hitting when I was younger. I think it's mostly down to the vocalist but it vibes like a bunch of Australian bands actually.

Thanks I'm definitely just writing the sort of songs that I would have listened to 20+ years ago. I'm the vocalist as well, fwiw. Not the greatest singer in the world but it fits the vibe at least.
Glad you enjoyed it

I listened to the whole thing. Good work! My favorite is Get it Off your Chest. The comparisons in the above posts are pretty spot on (I am listening to lots of Replacements these days and there is definitely a bit of that). Thanks for sharing!

Really like this, getting a definite early Lemonheads vibe especially from You Dont Have to Be My Friend, which is a great thing in my opinion.
