Hey, everyone.
Sam, the drummer in two of my bands recorded a great batch of (literal) bedroom pop songs and asked me for help mixing. I'm biased I suppose, but I'm a big fan. This was tracked with modest gear by Sam and mixed in Garageband by yours truly. I tried to maintain the spirit of Sam's rough mixes and just make things a little cleaner (or dirtier in some cases). I'm proud of how it turned out, mainly because he's happy with it.
Not sure what to compare it to. There's some obvious early Talking Heads, a little Magnetic Fields, and maybe some Jonathan Richman if he was an introvert. Hope you like it.

Listening now. Sounds good, although super compressed (not necessarily bad), on my iPad. Will listen on headphones in a few hours.

Thanks for giving it a listen. Yeah, some elements are quite squashed. For example the drums on J. Edgar. That’s just what sounded best with the raw material to me.
For the most part I dialed it back a lot from where it was. Hopefully it’s not fatiguing to listen to.
