My buddy Adam Weisberg played drums with them for a hot minute, and Andrew Wiggins the singer/guitarist does sound at the Earl in EAV. Good dudes all around. Really miss that little music scene.

But yeah, the project/band is called Withe, the album is going to be called "There is Less Sun". Here's a sneak peak at one of the singles that'll come out hopefully in the next couple months: https://www.ampled.com/artist/withe/post/2665
That track sounds great. Keep OSG updated on the release.

I think I know Adam’s face, but I never met him. I know Wiggins, though, and he’s a good guy. He also makes killer fuzz pedals, of which I have two. Moreland Magnetics is his brand (you probably already know this, but I’m not afraid to remind everybody else here).
Hey thanks! Will do, for sure. More on that hopefully in the next couple months. Yeah Adam's around, funny guy - i think he's in LA these days. Wiggins is great, the fuzz pedal stuff he does is so cool. I've been meaning to grab something from him for years, he did a run of rangemasters a while back that piqued my interest but missed out. Which models do you have of his?

This sounds great, nice work!
Thanks so much, Todd! Looking forward to sharing the rest with y'all.

I’ve got a 404, which is by far the best fuzz face I’ve ever played, and a 303, which is that rangemaster you heard about. It’s really good. Seems like his 707 is what folks are hyped about these days. It’s based on an Elka Dizzy Tone, which I’ve never played.

Nice, I gotta check one out sometime. I see there's a 303 on reverb, might scoop it up and see if I find it useful at all. Found a thousandaire video with the drummer dude that I know btw this one Andrew's guitar tone is completely insane, god that dude just knows what sounds good

Yeah, man, that’s the good shit. If you got the cash, that 303 won’t disappoint.

There's been an original music revival in the town I'm from recently, the Irish music scene always looks towards Dublin but they're finally starting to take music from outside it seriously.

Just Mustard, a Shoegazey / Industrial band, supported the Cure at their Malahide gig and recently signed to the same label as Fontaines DC and Idles, I recommend their excellent debut album Wednesday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vw8UPwG ... rakiriDiat

Some singles for flavour:

Frank: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2121UMm ... ustMustard
Seven: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8mvUHw ... ustMustard
Tainted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPWnjIL ... ustMustard

AE Mak, a woman with an insane vocal range, very Bjork-esque sense of style and the music videos are always fantastic.

TPM, a satirical rap group who write barbed hilarious jabs at Irish living, our town is famous for a specific blend of Curry so ''Eat That Curry'' gets quoted a lot in our house. ''Fuck RTE'' was voted single of the year by the very institution they were criticising.

I never seem to tire of bands like the Jeanines. Melodic female-fronted quick hook indiepop will forever be my jam... and they have a new album coming out soon! :w00t:

Also, it would be nice for a few more links from other people in the earlier posts... but none of that Spotify crap please. Bandcamp or Youtube.

Billie Eilish. For real.

Oh shit, how did I forget to list Billie Eilish?? Yeah, she’s a powerhouse for sure!

That reminds me of this tune “Good Will Hunting” by that band I mentioned earlier in this thread, Black Country, New Road.

She had Billie Eilish style
Moving to Berlin for a little while
Trying to find something to hold onto
Never text me nothing but she wants to
Tell me
She’s not that hard to find

I know it feels like a bit of a stretch, but damn, this record really has grabbed me more than most records in the past couple years, even by some of my favorite artists. It’s early to claim record of the year but this one will be up there for me once 2022 wraps.

Also, yeah - Billie has been absolutely crushing it. What a badass.

I was going to say Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, but in searching for something to post I realised they've been around for over 6 years now. Covid has really distorted my sense of time. Anyway: https://youtu.be/BSKRqmfJTnY

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but what I've heard of Billie Eilish's music I find annoying. She seems like a cool person though.

For extra bonus internet points, recommend me your favorite way of coming into contact with new music.
For FCATR, I hadn't heard of them until I saw them supporting Foo Fighters. Similarly, there are plenty of not particularly new bands that I had heard of but never really listened to until seeing them live either as a support act (Killswitch Engage) or because a friend wanted to see them (Within Temptation) and then ended up getting really into them.

Watching support acts will alway be my favourite way of getting into new (or at least new to me) bands. I suppose you could take this even further by looking at tour dates for any band you like, even if you can't go, and then listening to whoever they have a support act.

Probably the Courettes. I think all the others have been going longer than 5 years.

There’s a local band called Somesurprises that I caught last week. Really great stuff.

RIYL Slowdive, Stereolab, Wye Oak, Beach House, Blonde Redhead, Spiritualized, etc…An overall droney/spacey vibe, but with some interesting melodic and chord choices.

Wolf Alice. Might be one of the best bands from UK currently.

Their guitarist even plays Jaguars.

5 years? They released an EP on a Sony subsidiary in 2013 & they had some singles out before then, too.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?
