I put out a lil' acoustic-based recording

Post by marqueemoon » Sun Nov 28, 2021 1:45 pm

Hey, everyone.

I did a little 3 song recording called Uneven Bars. This was all recorded and mixed at home by yours truly. The main guitar is my creaky old Washburn parlor. Most of this was done late at night, so it has a pretty subdued and somewhat creepy vibe.

Rad!
The Youtube ones; are they recorded with only the LDC on screen? Because it sure makes that Washburn shine! Great sound!

Thanks! Yeah, for the Youtube stuff it's just that one mic. It's a 70's U87 set to omni. There's a little post processing (light eq, compression, limiting, a touch of reverb).

Dude it sounds great! I love the percussive strumming on the live version of Knives and Matches. Really goes well with your voice, which is lovely. Strong work. Thanks for sharing. Not easy to do.

I put a few new scrapes on the top making that video. That guitar wasn’t meant to be played with a pick.

Thanks for all the kind words, all.

There will new music from some of my other projects out soon.

I dont know why I didn't click this thread earlier...these are really really good! Bravo.

The cadences in your songwriting remind me of The Flaming Lips - not a bad thing at all.
