Going through a phase of listening to some old school wild Rn'R, 12 bar blues, shuffle guitar, and hollering, and realising that I don't have much of it from modern artists.
There's plenty of surf revivalists and an ocean full of mid 60's garage band lovers, but unless it's gone over my head I just cant find as much 50's - early 60s influenced R&R that grabs me, stuff that could be a successor to Bo diddley, Chuck Berry and Link Wray. There's plenty of Rockabilly stuff, and while I like the Cramps I don't think a lot of modern Rockabilly is for me (I don't know why, I doubt I could even coherently explain what I find distinct between the two genres).
There's some artists I know who do in a way I like such as Mark Sultan/BBQ, Bloodshot Bill and the Stompin Riff Raffs from Japan:

But I'd be interested if anyone had any other suggestions.

Re: Modern rock & roll suggestions
I'm looking for the same thing out there. I scour Soundcloud for stuff. I love the stuff you mentioned and venture into territory of stuff like the early Mudhoney and some of the freak stuff leading up to that (SST records stuff mostly) but I am not finding a lot.... The Mummies and Billy Childish cover the same garage stuff you are talking of but then what? I was really into a group called The Hospitals from the early 2000's but that was more noise than anything. I am neck deep in reissues lately and mostly from the 60's and some pre Ramones stuff.... I dug the first records by The Mullens but that was in the mid 90's. The Gories were great (even the reunion in the last decade was pretty good... if not better than when they started) The Oblivions were great in the original form but a reunion was lacking. I am into some of this latin soul that is coming out of L.A. : Thee Lakesiders, The Altons, et al... but besides that, what is out there?
It could always be worse
