Still getting into it, but any new Ian is better than no Ian.

The Coriky record is pretty good, got it as soon as it came out last year. It kind of blew my mind to read a while back that Fugazi still gets together to jam, they just don't play out or do records anymore.

yeah. as far as i've read, they all still play together but just can't reform as a full time commitment. given how big ian is on archival, i would like to know if there's any recordings of these jams.... hell, if ian really wanted to make some money for charity, just livestream one of their jams.

The thing I appreciate about Fugazi not coming back is that they know it would have to mean something to do it, and I think they feel like they'd need to do it with the same intensity they had before. As a fellow old timer, I appreciate when you've got kids and wives and are older you know it's hard to catch that same fire. So by not coming back Fugazi stays perfect forever, but they're still friends and like to play, so it's cool they still hit the basement and fire up from time to time.

The Coriky album is pretty good but I think Ian's post-Fugazi work with his wife in The Evens is stronger. Songs like "Around the corner" and "All these governers" are definitely in my top 20 list of things Ian has worked on across his career.

I never really got into The Evens. I enjoyed them more live than on record. I like Coriky much more. I was lucky enough to see them twice before the world fell apart. They were great, but Ian’s guitar was under-amplified both times. I hope he decides to drag out the JCM800 half stack in the future...
