I'm into it! Good shit right there.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Yeah me too...except I'm probably too old to go batshit crazy or the at least the kids tell me they'd just abandon me if I was too mucch of an embarassment. Some friends of mine saw them in London the other night and had the best time, they reported that much of the crowd was a bit too cool for school but that there were pockets of insanity.

I honestly feel like I've owned this album for years, it just feels so familiar and you just can't help singing along, dancing like a twat and of course going 'hello' during Better Sit Down Boy.

I also think philosophically they just get what I want from banging pop I personally have zero interest in pop stars personal pain or any sort of pop star angst, i want capitalised FUN, not some beef track or some pish about your inner demons, I only want to dance like a demon.

Decided to see what my girlfriend would make of Confidence Man last night, and put on "Don't You Know I'm in a Band", which got a bemused response and an "is that Right Said Fred!?"

Oh well, can't please everyone.

:D That's fair enough as first impression I guess at least if you don't have a big disco grounding. I love "Don't You Know I'm in a Band" but the first thing I heard was the 'I wish I had someone to rub my body on' Weatherall remix of Bubblegum and I guess this gave me the incentive to look properly.

I mean there's serious bravery for just fucking going there with the Barbie Girl lift in C.O.O.L Party.

I think this record has been coming but I didn't see it coming so fully formed. We've had a good few years of an Acid revival, some of it fucking amazing and some of it being made by that miserable guitarist out the RHCP. With that in mind I thought that sooner or later this sort of thing might be next up, especially as stuff like Love From Outer Space has been getting played out again by a lot of folk over the last five years.

Btw here's a saucy summer threesome to get any party started.

S'Express* - lollypop (Chris & Cosey Remix)

Confidence Man - Bubblegum (Andy Weatherall Remix)

Creep Show (Wrangler and john Grant) - Mr Dynamite

*IMO very underrated and joyous group. The Elevation 12' of Mantra for a State of Mind is classic of it's kind. Primal Scream (and Jason Pierce) covered it recently and while it's too much porridge and not enough honey for me it's a reasonable effort.

and anyone who doesn't get up toTheme from S'Express is a fucking stick in the mud. It's a permanent fixture in my white Chantilly lace trimmed wedding record bag.

Sadly I'm in what my kids call 'the old age of youth' and a decade or so north of you and suddenly worry I'm in unnavigable party waters, that gets me worrying I'm now that eccentric old raver.

That "Boyfriend (Repeat)" song is great, and it seemed like of familiar, and I realized that the bass line sounds a lot like this old My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult song that I like a lot.

I think it's about a dildo.

No wonder those Incels are so angry. Trump needs to build an anti dildo wall.

First dildos and now the bikini part of the Miss America competition is being taken away?

Won't someone think of the men?
