Inside Llewyn Davis Soundtrack and a few Sharon Jones LP's this week.
Sharon is (was) amazing, and that movie is a real hidden gem in the Coen's oeuvre. One of these days I need to track down that soundtrack.
I also picked up a live LP pack that's "inspired by" Llewyn Davis but is really a live show of a bunch of Coen Bros movie songs.

Finally scored a 2LP green/orange splatter copy of The Kinks "Villiage Green" at a reasonable price. Sounds as fantastic as it looks.

Ooo, nice! It's a hard task to rank Kinks albums but I think your logic is sound.

I ordered this on orange and black vinyl today.
Otherwise I got a nice copy of Yo La Tengo I can hear the heart beating as one on yellow vinyl.

Great album. Rick White kicks ass. I saw them live many times, as well as his post Eric’s Trip band, Elevator to Hell/Elevator. He’s the most chill guy ever.

I've been into them since 1992, I grew up in Detroit so we had a lot of Canadian indie stuff make it over to us. I like all of their material and Elevator to Hell also.

Picked up the Veldt's new Gobstopper single, a song produced by Robin Guthrie in '89. Their bandcamp page mentions orange & silver vinyl. Mine is black with a stamped white label, so I assume it's a test pressing.

Nice! A few years back I found an original US Harvest pressing at Goodwill for $1 and about crapped myself. The cover was well loved and the vinyl had been around the block a few times but with a record like that it didn't much matter.

For anyone interested, Tom Waits is finally re-releasing all his Island recordings. Big Time is still missing, unfortunately, but I'm very happy to see these back in print.

To stay within the theme of this thread, I've just ordered Frank's Wild Years, Rain Dogs, and Bone Machine. I already have Swordfishtrombones, so this will finally complete TWHT* for me.

I saw this too and was super excited as I’ve been on the hunt for rain dogs and bone machine for some time. I pre ordered rain dogs, bone machine and swordfish trombones. For some reason I’ve never really listened to franks wild years much, although I’ll probably grab that at some point too. And on the subject of new pre orders, the cure have just issued a non picture disc release of show, coming in September.

I just bought an original issue copy of X-Los Angeles on my trip to Los Angeles. The record and sleeve are in excellent shape. It was my souvenir for the trip.
