As I get older, I find it harder and harder to find new music I like, but I really dig these guys:

They're AWESOME. My wife and I saw them at Solid Sound last year and they were incredible. "Turn It Around" not being a gigantic hit is fucking criminal.

I'm at work and can't check out the YouTube videos in the OP. Are the the KEXP videos? If not, those are FANTASTIC!

One is KEXP, one is NPR. I prefer their live arrangements to the more "shiny" album versions.

Quick bump, I know there's a few fans here.

There's a new Lucius album out called 'Good Grief'.

I wasn't blown away straight up, but It's definitely growing on me - I've only had a chance to give it about 4 listens.

I liked their first album quite a lot, but haven't had a chance to check out the new one. I first heard about them when they joined Tweedy a few times on their Sukirae tour.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

So apparently they're re-recording 'Wildewoman' to celebrate the ten year anniversary.
Last Fall, as we were coming up on the ten year anniversary of our debut album, Wildewoman, and wanted to find a special way to honor and celebrate it. We put together a tour, and planned to approach it old school style - with the same instrumentation, same setup, same backdrop, same look. We even sprinkled in the same covers we used to do on the original tour, ending the show in the middle of the crowd, like the good old days.
Recording Wildewoman (The New Recordings) in Alhambra, 2023

We wanted to bring back that same spark and energy you really only get in the beginning, when everything is new and all firsts feel magical. But actually, we were tighter musically, the fans even more dedicated, and our growth as a band showed itself in wonderful ways. We realized that in tandem with this idea, and because of the time that had passed, we could re-record the entire record outside of any conflict with our old label; we could come at it with more experience, more discernment, and take liberties with some of the arrangements. We brought back the original 5 members, and invited friends to collaborate with us to make this home-of-a-record even more lived in and loved. We’re proud of the outcome and excited to introduce Wildewoman in its essence, with a little more life under her belt: Wildewoman (The New Recordings).

Judging by this ^, I will not be buying a copy.

I guess they really just don't like guitars (or any sense of space) any more; no idea why they brought back the original line up for this.
