Gloomy western flamenco?

Post by Miro » Wed Feb 01, 2023 5:12 pm

This is probably one of the best Jazzmaster videos I've seen. Can anyone recommend music with a similar style and mood? Even the guitarist from the video didn't play similar things anymore... In general, how can you define this genre?

Ronquillo is great! Love his demos for the Eastwood guitars.

It reminds me a bit of Hermanos Gutierrez - not this song specifically - but their smooth, unintrusive and relaxed style. You could listen to them for hours… which I have to, as my girlfriend is a big fan.

Oh, thanks for sharing good music! There are pleasant positive vibes. And it also has a distinct style. Definitely worth listening to their other records.

You might dig Tommy Guerrero, he's pretty much my favorite artist and has been playing jazzmasters the last few years.

Such a fresh and interesting sound. It's exciting. I just watched an interview with Tommy, he's a really inspiring person. Thank you a lot.

How about this?
The melody is good! Reminds me of Tarantino soundtracks.

Awesome. He has quite a few projects, if you’re looking for more spaghetti western vibes check out Los Days, it’s not too far from his more recent solo albums.

He is a really interesting and original artist. I'm glad I know about him now.

Surprisingly, this tutorial also has that special flavor, like in the video from my first post. Harmonic minor chords Ha, this is a new level — to look for songs of a certain key scale...

Kind of in a spaghetti/cowboy/surf vein- I've found this to be quite a charming album, I've given it lots of listens.

I liked a few tracks, especially Nunu. Sounds very sweet

I remember having to open up and put stickers on all the covers of the promo CDs for this album, changing the name from Friends of Dean Martin to Friends of Dean Martinez.

It reminds me a lot of Calexico. The Black Light is a great album.
