New addition to the board, Fig Fumb. The thing has great tone shaping and massive amounts of gain on tap, though I prefer the lower gain settings. I've been mostly using it to boost lower frequencies with the gain barely cracked. Really complements the low output TV Jones Classics in my cherry bari.

Some new gear today, got that little Orange cab, and then the Idiotbox Effects No Moon (Combination Rat/Tube Screamer/Muff, all run in parallel) so the rig iiiiiiis:
Telecaster (MJT Body / WD all rosewood neck / Duncan Broadcaster bridge pickup) -> TU-2 -> Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster -> Lovetone Big Cheese clone -> Fulltone OCD -> Idiotbox No Moon -> Vox Delaylab (with expression pedal) -> Maneco Labs Sweet 16 (16 Second delay clone, with expression pedal) -> Hotone Mojo Diamond Tweed Emulation Head -> Orange 1x8 Cab.
The 1x8 sounds better than expected, a little bit honky, but I kinda thought that'd be the case. The No Moon is really nice. Probably the best Muff I've played, and the Rat is awesome too. I'm new to the Tube Screamer game, so I have to get used to it, but it stacks great.

Here's two. The first is a posed photo I took for an Instragram contest, trying unsuccessfully to win a guitar pedal. I rarely take full on guitar porn pics but this is definitely one. The board is self-explanatory. The guitar is my beloved '12 AVRI. The amp is a Bassman 20 cut down to a head and rewrapped with a matching 10A125-loaded 2x10. The second pic is from a late night recording session a couple of weeks ago. Same board (minus the Deathly Hallows pickle vibe), a'10 SG Standard, and the addition of the Origin 20 (which I absolute adore for direct recording via the Suhr RLIR).

It's a 60's Japanese, (Matsumoku factory) made guitar. They were branded various names including, Tempo, Conrad, Crown (probably others).
Its got a 26.5" scale... I've got it tuned to B (lately drop A) with .063-.013 strings, iirc (it's been a little while since I've put new strings on it).
It was a project of mine from when I first joined OSG. I actually went through a few of these (gave the nicest example to a buddy of mine). This one was probably the worse of them. It was a husk and the body was cracked at the neck pocket so I rebuilt the body out of a solid, single piece of Mahogany, cut a pickguard, wired it up with some TV Jones Classics, cut a new nut and refinished it.
It brings the chunky riffage.

I’ve always wanted to find a guitar with that tremolo I could like but it’s never happened. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those before.

ok, as someone who uses both a bassman and a twin as their gigging rig, i got one question. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THE BASSMAN 20 EXISTS? seriously, i kinda like the idea of making a scaled down version of my rig for recording/practice now and using a bassman 20 (fitted with a fane) and a princeton.
do you have any recordings of this?

Mostly curious the way in which that Bassman 20 was made. I've made several amps recently that were quite similar (BF style preamp, EL84 backend for about 15 watts) but there's a few different ways that one could scale down a Bassman.

id be curious to try a scaled down bassman circuit mainly because ive been using my silverface for nearly 12 years and i've yet to find an amp that sounds anything like it at home volumes.
hell, a lot of amp sims didn't even come close imho.

When Rivera was designing amps for Fender in the early 80s he designed the Bassman20 as an update of the silver face Musicmaster bass amps. The combo is closed back, has slightly more power and headroom, has a direct out, the cabinet is bigger and deeper, but it is very much an amp meant for practice and maybe recording. As a guitar amp it is less a Bassman and more a like the non-reverb Princeton or Deluxe. It has about the same throw as a DR but stays clean longer. So I suppose a tiny Twin. However, it will break up, especially if you hit it with higher powered pickups and dime the mids. Scooped it’s more like Fender, with the mids turned up it’s more like my Mesa Mark I. And into a bass cab it rules for bass guitar, but it’s definitely not loud enough for anything but recording or solo practice. I bought mine on EBay already cut down into a head. I had my tech friend check it out and while he had the chassis out I asked another friend to cut the head cab down for depth (it was deeper than most speaker cabs) and he rewrapped it to match the 2x10.
I’ve seen on forums where folks mess with them to make them more pleasing for guitar. I forget what tubes are in the preamp slots but they aren’t standard 12A-whatever-7. The amp sounds marvelous when plugged into a cab in a room and under mic, but with the RLIR it is either great for clean at low volume or when it’s grunting dimed but at cleanish or light breakup it crackles in a not pleasing way. I use it right now in my second band here in NC that isn’t nearly as loud as my main band in TX. The only Bassman I can compare it to is the 59 LTD chassis I bought and parked into a headshell. The two share a name but really don’t sound much alike. I can see later about finding an isolated recording of it to share.

Here's the current vibe... keeping it as simple as possible, focusing on writing rather than tap dancing these days (tough habit to break)
- 1970 Guild Bluesbird (fully hollow version! Basically built like an old aristocrat with the newer (for the 70s) Guild HBs)
- 1968 (?) Ampeg Reverbojet w/ original CTS speaker
- EB Volume Pedal, Land Devices EP-5, old DMM
- Senn. e906 for recording (LOVE this mic, sounds perfect right on the cone)

Nice! I love my Reverbojet. It sounds great paired with my Musicmaster Bass amp - that's my primary recording combo.

The practice room we play in usally has some kind of cheap line6 or a red knob twin reverb for the guitarist who don't bring/own an amp, but for the last few times there was this huge blackstar thing in the room. I'm not sure if it belongs to the studio or if another band doesn't bother locking their gear away after they play, but I'm enjoying moving lots of air with this thing, I had never played with a traditional big head + 4x12 before !
Partsmater + behringer compressor (used as a mute switchI don't even know why I bought this in the first place) + danelectro pastrami distortion + broken behringer blues overdrive that only makes massive fuzz noises now + boss DD-7 into this massively overpowered Blackstar Blackfire 200

I’d say that’s pretty accurate. It’s somewhat hard to figure out for the traditional amps we know as Fender. I owned one for some time. I felt that mine lacked the Fender punch. What it did well was QOTSA type snarl and drive when cranked. Took dirt pedals really well too.
I always wondered what it would have sounded like if I hit it with more complex effects. Verbs and delays. Something I didn’t own at the time of owning.
