When did you place your order?
I love watching their videos, but the one with kids linked above was on another level. Genius as far as marketing is concerned, but also super heartwarming.

I ordered one... i think the day after the release andThey were estimating it to ship this month but I think they are behind...
I was watching the video and thought the Ikea reference was hilarious - but the reason he got my hundred bucks was he was doing the demo and I looked away and could not hear a difference. I listened again with headphones and same - couldn't hear a difference.....

I hadn't seen this! Pretty funny, but I already have a perfectly indistinguishable Klon clone that I built (wasn't solderless though )
The thing I now wonder seeing over 20,000 of these have already been sold, is how many pedals containing this same exact overdrive circuit are out there now?
Between the 8,000 originals, however many KTRs, the dozens of different manufactures that have been making exact Klones, and the larger of those manufacturers that have already sold many tens of thousands (like Wampler and J Rockett), there must literally be enough in circulation that every guitarist on Earth must already have at least one, right? I guess what I'm weirdly (and only academically) curious about is, how many people have more than one Klone?
Jack
P.S.: and I ask this of course are someone who owns way more Big Muffs than he'd ever need... though of course each of them do intentionally have different component values to intentionally have at least somewhat different sound

There’s a great YT review and criticism video of this pedal and I have to agree. He easily could’ve sold these assembled for the same price. He has other pedals that are similar in design and quality that are assembled for $99. He easily could’ve done the same here but I guess the marketing stunt worked.
Same. I don’t know anything about your previous post thoDr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 2:10 pmSeems like my original post got deleted, so:

Klones are not 'exactly the same' FWIW.JackFawkes wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 11:24 amI hadn't seen this! Pretty funny, but I already have a perfectly indistinguishable Klon clone that I built (wasn't solderless though )

I’m not a huge fan of JHS. On the other hand, I don’t hate him the way many people do.
Anyway, opinions of the guy aside, this is very clever marketing.

Re: JHS NOTAKLON pedal...99 bucks...??
Honestly, I've never gotten a grasp on the hatred for him but somehow Mason from Vertex (who is a known con artist and downright thief) or Mike Fuller (a straight up terrible person to customers, retailers, and non-customers alike) seem to get a pass most of the time.
I feel like most of the hatred for JHS comes from unsubstantiated forum posts (mostly on TGP) and mountains made of molehills but I have yet to see anybody actually have a first-hand experience that was negative (unlike, again, Mason or Fuller).
Sorry if this got ranty, but I just thought that this was a fun product from a company I don't have a problem with and I look forward to my Ikea experience.

Locking this. Too many obscenity-laden rants about you know who.
