Boss RV-6...suddenly stopped working?

Post by javier-san » Tue Aug 22, 2023 9:08 pm

Has anyone else had this issue? I was re-organizing my pedal board, which meant unplugging power supply and cables, etc, etc. When I went to plug all the power supply cables to test out the new configuration, my RV-6 no longer turned on.

I've tried few different power supplies, now, but it just doesn't work.
I am hoping there is a possible solution...other than buying a new one!

Does it work running on a battery?

Sorry for your loss. I would be crushed if mine died, and would probably have to pony up for another. That swampy wash of the shimmer verb with the tone control rolled way back is essential for me.

Why don't you bring it to a competent tech to take a look?

I'll have to buy one next paycheck. Luckily they aren't terribly expensive used, but still sucks.

If it’s less than 5yrs old, Roland will fix it at no cost.
You might need your receipt though.

Otherwise, you could try checking the input(A) jack socket, as it relies on shorted sleeve terminals to power up.

Thanks for the advice! But unfortunately I bought it second hand... :(
