EHX Walking on the Moon
Huh. Wasn't expecting this to happen.

Could be cool, although they sound like they didn't spend much time dialing the pedal in before doing the shoot in the video. The setting is wayyyy wobblier than the song itself sounds. I don't think my Retrosonic Flanger is in any danger of being replaced.

It sounds off to me too, but he ran it into an Echoplex on most of those tracks, which would wash some of the wobble out. I guess it would sound like this on it’s own? Or maybe Andy Summers is 80 and flattered that he got some recognition and doesn’t care what it sounds like? Andy looks great for 80 and can still reach those Add 9th chords.stevejamsecono wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 4:32 amHuh. Wasn't expecting this to happen.

Wow, I didn't realize he was a decade older than Sting. And yeah, it's amazing that he can hear or move his fingers well enough to be doing this at all.fuzzjunkie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 6:41 amIt sounds off to me too, but he ran it into an Echoplex on most of those tracks, which would wash some of the wobble out. I think that it would be crazy to expect an 80 year-old to remember how something sounded in person 4 decades ago. Auditory memory literally only lasts for seconds, and many 80 year-olds struggle to remember major life events. The only thing he could do, like any of us, is listen to a recording, and when he does so, he's doing it with 80 year-old ears that have been blasted by countless shows at stage volume, so he'd be a poorer judge of accuracy than any of us at that point.
Hell, with analog gear, it can be a struggle to dial in the same tone as 40 days ago, let alone 40 years.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Yeah I mean you wouldn't need to tweak this pedal other than possibly making it sound a bit more authentic I guess? The Mascis BM is a bummer tho, you'd think they'd at least tweak it a bit.Jonesie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 11:47 amYep. This is such a shame. Totally would have bought one of these even though I’ve already got a BF-2 clone that doesn’t get much use.
Although I’ve heard you might be able to adjust an internal trimpot to make the deluxe electric mistress more subtle?

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

It’s crazy that’s he’s 80 years old. Doing pretty damn good! My friend’s wife cuts his hair and that’s his real hair. Lucky guy.

Re: EHX Walking on the Moon
Yeah I had a friend who was a Police nut back in their heyday and he had a collection of AS's pre-Police stuff, going back to Dantalion's Chariot c.1967, and Eric Burdon's New Animals (or was it War?).
When the Police had their first few hits I remember another pal saying "They're all about 30. If you hadn't made it by the time you're 30 you'd just give up". He obviously couldn't foresee a pay-day 50 years later for endorsing a rebadged pedal!
