god fkn damnit why can't Boss add a line level switch like everyone else. It seriously pisses me off >:(
Down here in the gutter, the first time I ran into that on something other than rack gear was the humble-but-fantastic NUX Atlantic.

The moment I saw it, I couldn't figure out why every modern delay or reverb didn't have that.

I just think that if you're going to charge $500 for a delay, make it useable for every application. No one is buying rack gear for production anymore, we all use pedals on a desk or tabletop... that is if you're still using hardware and not just plug-ins ITB.

I love not having to use a reamp box but that's what I'd have to do with this. I love my Strymon Volante but I'd love a few more flavors.

I need to get a pair of these but they're so pricey for two:

Do they not have a “turn on while holding down switch X” for line / instrument?!

i didn't see anything in the manual. input specs: -10 dbu input level, 1meg input impedance, typical guitar pedal specs.

OTOH, I just noticed the SDE-3000D pedal.... I might prefer this actually.

Yeah, it was an assumption on my part that they’d be able to switch.
The SDE looks really cool too ($499). The Van Halen version seems to add a ton of features. ($599)

I like this as I really enjoy the functionality of the RE202 which is of course the same.
What I’d be really interested in would be a reverb version of this.
Loads of adjustment on the top and easy way to toggle between presets. Let’s hope

The demos sound too good for me not to bite. This seems to have that smeary Memory Man quality I've been pining for all these years.
Why not just get, or stick with, a DMM?

From what I’ve seen these regularly sell between $700-$900.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

I think the DM-101 will be a really great guitar effect. I don't really have a 'main' pedalboard these days so I'm not itching to get one. I also have a nice older (90s) DMM.

I do want the EVH version of the SDE-3000 pedal tho! I want that one over the normal one because i think the wet/dry/wet flexibility will be useful for studio production. I can see it being inspiring for Drum machine processing and modular synth sequencing/sound design. It has quite an array of input and output gain/level/impedance options too so it's perfect.

I have a 70's DMM and I love the sound of it. However, it's pretty impractical for a modern pedal board due to the size, individual power supply and the fragility / build quality of vintage EH pedals.

It's great for recording, but I'd be terrified to gig with it in fear of damage during transit or at a show.

DMM nano is great. If you don’t take delay past 12 o’clock you can get pretty close to the sound. Plus the extra delay time past 12 is actually really useful.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

I've got a Diamond Quantum Leap and TC Electronic Plethora X5 covering my delay needs. Playing in a big noisy rock band, getting 80% close to a memory man style sound is all I want. It's practicality over perfect sound quality as 99% of people aren't going to notice the subtleties when our drummer is going full pelt and there is a wall of fuzz obliterating everything.

When I played with one at the store, I came to the same conclusion. The DOD Rubberneck is pretty great, too.

The Way Huge Supa Puss is a good one too, can go from murky analog to bright DMM style. Really great pedal, which I feel like is overlooked.

TBH I was always happy with my MXR Carbon Copy on my pedalboard in place of my DMM. Sometimes I used a combo of EQ and light compression after it so simulate the DMM but that was very rare.

But I also used a 90s DMM on my board for about a decade. I never had an Issue. I made a loop box for it though so I was never stomping on it. I also used various preamp pedals to bump it up a tiny bit past unity so I could keep the DMM's preamp gain low and clean (in the same loop, after the DMM).

But if I needed to make a new pedalboard today and had the funds, I'd easily choose this new DM-101.
